Common Questions

Who do you see?

In our clinical team, we see children 10 and up, teens, individual adults, and couples. We value diversity and enjoy tailoring our approach based on the unique individual sitting in front of us.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment used predominately to treat trauma through identifying blockages in the information processing system of the brain. By targeting those blockages we can reduce their power and symptoms, and reprocess those memories to create more adaptive behaviors, perspectives, and bring relief. This is done through the use of bilateral stimulation using eye movements or tapping. More information can be found here.

In-person or Virtual?

Clients are seen both in-person and virtually through a HIPAA compliant platform. We prefer doing the bulk of our work in-person. However, we recognize life happens, therefore upon intake majority of our clients sign a consent for in-person sessions as well as consent to use technology in the event of not being able to be seen in person.

Being licensed in both the great states of NC and SC, Lauren is happy to be able to provide services to SC residents through a virtual platform!

Do you take insurance?

Our practices does not accept insurance at this time. As self-pay therapists, we are able to focus our time on client care and not on the demands of insurance companies. Many insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis that is retained on your permanent record if filing through insurance. Depending on your benefits or organization you work for, you may be able to seek reimbursement for our services. I will provide you a superbill upon request for these purposes.

Cost and payment?

Each individual session is $130 for 45-50 minutes. EMDR session length may be extended, if need requires and cost will be adjusted at the going rate.

We accept credit and debit cards, Health Savings (HSA) and Flex Spending (FSA) accounts.
